Harvest the Good Laid Bare

Something was initiated with the New Moon of September 6. This “initiation” was of such incredible importance that many of us were hit with emotional firestorms that disrupted our relationships. The New Moon at 14 degrees of perfectionist Virgo meant that we began to look at the details of our lives, friendships, families, needs, or associations with increasing levels of specificity. The imperfections screamed loudly.

We pulled out our measuring sticks to see where things just didn’t measure up. We may have been compelled to clean out our emotional closets — and those around us may have been doing the same. You might have even had a load of someone else’s crap dumped on your head, and you may have been feeling heavy and weighted down as a result. Or, were you shoveling your own into someone else’s closet and they called you out on it?

Whether you were feeling the burden of your own crap or someone else’s — if you were brave enough to claim responsibility — you chose the path of understanding by recognizing that everything you encounter is in fact yours — and by taking personal responsibility, you performed the cleanup operation that this “crap” required.

Clean up and scrub. Tidy and organize. That’s the name of this game. Whether conscious or not, this has been happening inside and out of us since the initiation that came with the New Moon of September 6.

Adding more fuel to this emotional firestorm — that was very “real” and “practical” in its significance — were Pluto (in Capricorn) and Uranus (in Taurus). These two modern planets with all of their difficult-to-understand magic and intensity imbued the New Moon with an other-worldly kind of force that came with an irresistible urge for transformation and upheaval.

It was so intense in its nature that the sensitive ones among us — who feel these energies louder than the rest — may have wanted to stay at home, hide under the covers, and not talk to anyone.

Coming with these symbols were the soul-deep enlightenments that are manifesting in the physical world and the people and things around us now.

A Reminder That There Is Tremendous Power in Our Freedom to Change: This Power Is Always Within Our Grasp

Each of us has the right — at all times — to simply walk away from the terrible things that seek to overpower and control us, whether they are people, emotions, habits, addictions, lazinesses, regrets, guilt, or blame. By your own right — as a human being — you can walk away physically, mentally, spiritually, or financially. You can protest. You can sit and do nothing. You can hide. You can scream “NO!”

If you are willing to endure a little bit of pain in exchange for the ecstasy of freedom. If you are willing to embrace the idea of “not being liked.” You can face the fear of ostracization. You can assert what is true for you.

Even the “powerless” ones can do this with arms tied behind their backs, unable to move — frightened to think a single thought of liberation — even they have the power of protest, because no one can control your soul or your mind.

Your truth is impenetrably permanent and real — and it is infinitely powerful, infinitely in alignment with the Universal Law. The power of truth is in your hands at all times, and whether you choose to summon it or not, your awareness of that power is the source of your liberation.

This you know more now, as life sandblasts away the imperfections, as the weak pieces of the facade, and the unreal bits of tragic hubris, fall away — you see the proof of their impermanence. It is precisely because these things were not true for you that they will change and die exactly when they have to — or you will simply walk away from them, compelled by an irresistible urge to purify and clean.

The Full Moon of September 20

So as we recover from the monumental shifts that came to us during the last New Moon. As we regain our footholds and balances in our physical environments and relationships — what can we look forward to during the coming Full Moon in Pisces on September 20?

We may notice a sparkling hue of cleanliness in the wake of the purifying forces that came during the last New Moon. We may see the fruits of transformation and unexpected opportunities.

There will also be tension, which is the tension that exists between the imaginary ideal and the physical reality that we currently see. But if we are willing to transform and be reborn. If we are willing to take hold of a somewhat frightening kind of responsibility, we can do the structural work of the master builder to establish new scaffolds and routines that allow us to bridge the divide between the dream and the “real.”

In fact, we have all of the tools we need in our hands — we have the power of creation in our grasp — if we are willing to ACT and put one physical foot in front of the other, we can walk along the sometimes frightening path of living a “responsible” life — where we know that everything we see around is the direct reflection of every choice and action we made in the past.

So let us CHOOSE NOW to ACT and take the “scary” path of being absolutely responsible for who and what we are, and who and what we bring into our lives. Let us do the terrifying work of building the monumental structure that supports the dream of who we want to be — and make it the reality of who we are.

In the wake of the transformative September 6 New Moon, let us harvest ALL of the good laid bare — let us choose from the good that still remains — because this is the good that is true, and this is exactly what we need for moving forward.

What remains is what we can trust. It will support the better, more beautiful world ahead.
